A Whole New Game | Ball Clicker Deluxe Devlog #1

So... It's been a little over three years since I announced I would be working on a "sequel" to Ball Clicker called "Ball Clicker Deluxe", and you may be wondering "How much work have you actually gotten done on this new game?" NONE. I have been both caught up in life, while also procrastinating on making this game.

I guess none is a slight lie, I did have a handful of prototype games early on, such as an extension of the original game in Clickteam Fusion, a mostly-functional remake in Godot, and something that I don't really recall in Unity. None of these prototypes were any good or made any improvement to the game itself, this is why contrary to the name, Ball Clicker Deluxe will be a retro-horror game.

Why a retro horror game? Every time I open a retro horror game, whether it be Lethal Company, Baldi's Basics, or heck, even Containment Breach could fit with this though, I've though to myself "I could probably make this" and I decided I am now. My current vision of the game is heavily inspired by Baldi's Basics Plus (I realize I've already made a Baldi's Basics clone in the past, I don't care), but I will most certainly have better ideas as time goes on, as I typically create as ideas come to me.

Now since this is a devlog, I should probably show off some development, not just write an essay 2 people will read, and well, everything is in the concept phase right now, but here are some pictures of what I've been working on so far (everything seen is subject to change, I am only a few hours into development. Also it will only be images + a short caption for this devlog, not enough stuff is built out to warrant a full feature breakdown of every picture. All names and assets subject to change.

A Helper and a dev item spawned in the world

Inventory filled with items

That's all I have for your today, It's currently rather late, I just wanted to finally get something posted about this game. I hope in the next devlog to be talking about map generation, and possibly NPCs!
